The 5th Annual Crystal Cup Pond Hockey Challenge took place on February 12-14 at Charlie Lake, BC. There were 40 teams of varying skills and from communities across the North Peace, competing to take home the cup and the title of Crystal Cup champions. The warmer than usual temperatures brought out the whole community to join in on the festivities and cheer on their favourite teams.
The weekend had a pancake breakfast, kids activities, and an evening beer garden with live music. Another great way to celebrate our energetic community and embrace the winter spirit. Whoever said there isn’t anything to do in the winter has never lived in a winter community! Sometimes, I feel I am busier during the winter then I am in the summer.
The weekend was a great success and the Crystal Cup was won by Ace Instruments Ace Holes. It was their second Crystal Cup win in the five years of the challenge. Congratulations to Ace Holes and a round of applause to all of the teams for their team spirit and participation. See you on the ice next year!
